    Anais Amin is a Los Angeles professional specializing in journalism, marketing, and community advocacy. She earned a Master’s in Journalism from Columbia University and has cultivated a career in radio production, brand management, and social advocacy.     Early Life and Education

    Anais Amin grew up in Los Angeles, California. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and pursued a Bachelor of Arts in English. At UCLA, she was deeply involved in student government and leadership, serving as one of 14 council members. This role allowed her to represent over 30,000 undergraduate students.

    Her tenure in student government was marked by her advocacy for social justice, accessibility to higher education, and enhanced mental health services for veterans. She spearheaded initiatives to promote social justice awareness and education on campus, managing a team of 40 volunteers to implement these initiatives. Additionally, she moderated a significant political debate among candidates vying for a U.S. House of Representatives seat.

    Following her undergraduate education, she pursued further studies at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, obtaining a Master of Science in Journalism in 2020. She specialized in multimedia journalism, covering audio, text, and video formats.

    Her noteworthy academic projects included a comprehensive 5,000-word master’s project on the resettlement of a Syrian refugee family in the U.S., a published article detailing her family’s escape from genocide, and a video project focused on medication-assisted recovery.

    While at Columbia, she also engaged in investigative journalism, reporting on civil and criminal courts in the Bronx. Her investigations covered serious issues like sexual abuse in Orthodox schools and the misuse of force by private security personnel.

    Professional Career in Radio Production

    Anais began her professional radio production career by gaining experience with industry leaders. From January to December 2022, she served as a production assistant at Marketplace, a renowned public radio program produced by American Public Media.

    At Marketplace, her responsibilities included researching and pitching interview ideas, conducting pre-interviews with guests, and editing audio segments. She wrote scripts for the hosts, produced digital content for the website, and collaborated with fellow producers on content development. Her assignments frequently involved producing same-day interviews and personal audio essays.

    Before her full-time appointment, she was an intern at Marketplace from June to December 2021, where she supported the team by researching and booking guests, writing show rundowns, and editing interview content for broadcast. She also played a role in creating digital content for the Marketplace website.

    Additionally, she worked as a production assistant at KPFK Radio 90.7 FM from 2017 to 2019. There, she booked and interviewed scholars and experts on various topics, from social issues to science and economics. She was responsible for pitching and developing weekly show topics, editing interviews, and crafting one-hour radio segments that adhered to broadcast standards.

    Career in Marketing and Branding

    Beyond her contributions to journalism, Anais has also made significant strides in marketing and brand management. She currently serves as a fashion manufacturer's Marketing and Brand Manager, managing multi-million-dollar accounts and spearheading marketing campaigns.

    Previous Roles

    Before her current role, she was an executive assistant at Pacific Dental Lab, Inc., in Thousand Oaks, California, in 2017. In this capacity, she was in charge of marketing strategies, handled accounting duties, and facilitated smooth operations within the organization. She mediated between management and staff, resolving conflicts and maintaining efficient business operations.

    She also interned in PR and marketing at The Borgen Project, an organization dedicated to combating global poverty. Here, she engaged political leaders, helping to garner support from California senators and Congressional representatives for poverty-reduction legislation. Her responsibilities included producing targeted outreach materials, such as YouTube videos and social media campaigns.

    Community Engagement and Volunteer Work

    Anais is committed to volunteering and has worked with various organizations, including animal shelters and a horse ranch for special needs children. She actively participated in local political campaigns and has donated to several charitable causes, including the Children of Armenia Fund, journalist support initiatives, and REBUILD THE BLOCK, which assists Black-owned small businesses.

    Personal Life and Hobbies

    In her personal life, Anais is an accomplished oil painter and photographer. She uses these arts to capture and share her unique perspectives. She enjoys the outdoors, frequents museums, and is passionate about exploring different cultures.
